myles kovacs from dub magazine makes the cover of sema news

Our industry is constantly changing and needs people at the helm to predict trends and respond quickly to challenges. I’ve had some reputable mentors over the years, but it’s tough to find one that can compare with Wade Kawasaki.

Wade has positively influenced me as a businessman as well as a person over the last 7 years. He identified DUB early on in our development and was instrumental in connected DUB and SEMA together. Wade’s commitment to the industry and passion for the hobby is unmatched and a good reason why he’s the perfect candidate to be our next SEMA Chairman.

As we all know, legislation continues to try and regulate our industry We need people like Wade who have the experience and insight to fight for our hobby and keep us heading in the right direction. While Wade was the youngest person ever to be elected to the SEMA Board of Directors, his experience on the board has brought a uniqueness and freshness to keep us current on the latest opportunities and trends that can positively impact our businesses. He not only is deeply committed to our industry, he lives it as well owning aftermarket companies like Racing Sports Akimoto.

Without a doubt, Wade will get my vote on the ballot for SEMA Chairman.

SEMA Brazil

sema brazil meeting with emerson fittipaldi

During our International trip to Brazil, I met with Emerson Fittipaldi and Ray G. Young President GM Mercosul (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay) We had a frank discussion on the future of the Automotive Aftermarket in Mercosul. Notice the list of GM partners in Brazil that provided aftermarket products for a project build that occurred during the show. (including a
few SEMA members!)

SEMA, Wade Kawasaki and Jim Cozzie meet with Full Power Magazine

sema and full power magazine

Jim Cozzie, SEMA Chairman-elect and I met with the publisher of Full Power Magazine. He was very excited about SEMA’s presence in Brazil and we were excited about the amount of coverage in his magazine about the SEMA show and more importantly SEMA members products.

The SEMA National Educational Conference was a huge hit!

Congratulations to SEMA Board Member Matt Agosta and his committee for planning such a
great event. The quality of the speakers was phenomenal, “speaking about speakers”
what a treat it was to hear, learn from and be motivated by Lou Holtz. The networking was “off the hook”, as described by one attendee and the value was tremendous, seemed to be everyone’s take away. Keep a sharp look out for this event next year, as you will not want to miss it.

Alyssa Kawasaki and the Peninsula Varsity Dance Team

alyssa kawasaki performs -posted by sema chair elect candidate and dad wade kawasaki

Alyssa, Was just selected as a Captain of the Peninsula High School Varsity Dance / Drill team. She has been participating on the team since her Sophomore year and really loves to dance! They perform during half time of football and Basketball games, complete in competitions against other
schools and do an annual performance at the local Performing Arts Center.

Rose and I are so proud of the effort, excellence and team spirit she puts into dance as it is such a great life lesson. Signed, a proud dad…

Tim Kawasaki Shows his true grit

sema chair elect wade kawasaki's son tim -- football update

My son Timothy #56 in the Black and Gold of the Peninsula Panthers finished up his High School football carrier as a 2 way Varsity starter. They were “Bay League” Champions and CIF Southern Section semi-finalist’s for 2 straight years. We got a great surprise after the end of this season, when the competing coaches selected him to “First Team All Bay League”. Although Tim may be to small to play college ball, the lessons in discipline, hard work, flawless execution and team spirit will serve him very well in the Automotive Aftermarket.

Pictured: Timothy breaking through the line of scrimmage and tackling the running back for a loss.
